WeddingWire

– wedding planning starts here

 

WeddingWire connects engaged couples with potential wedding vendors. Couples are offered in-depth information and reviews for vendors, as well as a suite of online planning tools. For vendors, WeddingWire simplifies their daily business needs by unifying lead generation, marketing, and business management tasks.

I was the UX design lead on the Guest Experience team. We were tasked with a new challenge; to connect wedding guests with their engaged couple and to enhance and simplify the guests' experiences at every touchpoint.

During my time at WeddingWire, I also had the opportunity to work on other projects such as implementing an authenticated user dashboard, consolidating and optimizing the sign up experience across WeddingWire, and redesigning the support site.

THE GUEST EXPERIENCE

My team met to brainstorm some initial personas for wedding guests, create journey maps to help identify existing pain points, and brainstorm ideas for the different stages of the guest experience.


WEDDINGWIRE REGISTRY

WeddingWire Registry is designed to be a one-stop wedding registry destination for our couples. It allows them to add retail registries that they've either already created or are looking to create with unique gifts and cash funds.


AUTHENTICATED DASHBOARD REDESIGN

Upon logging in to WeddingWire, the user is redirected to their personalized authenticated dashboard. The dashboard's goals are to give the user a quick overview of where they are in the wedding planning process and to help them determine their next best action.


POST-LEAD ACCOUNT CREATION

I spent a lot of time redesigning and testing the way that users currently sign up for WeddingWire. With the main goal of acquiring more sign ups, my team tested various things. In one test, outlined below, we wanted to see the effects of auto-creating accounts for users through lead generation forms.


SUPPORT SITE REDESIGN

Working closely with the customer care team, I helped them redesign WeddingWire's support site. The goal here was to make browsing and navigating topics easier for our users.
